The Cubs

I'm often asked, “How did you become a Cubs fan being a south sider?

The short answer is that when I was younger I had an afterschool routine. School let out at 3:00 and by 3:30 I'd reach home. I'd make myself a snack and turn on channel 9, where I'd sit ,eat my snack do homework and watch the line up of cartoons. He-man, G.I. Joe., Transformers, and ThunderCats. But in the spring something different occurred, instead of the 3:30 line up of cartoons the Chicago Cubs games were on. I had already built in a habit of sitting and watching channel 9 , so overtime I got familiar with the Rhino Ryan Sanburg, Harry Caray and Steve Stone.
